The thirty-third edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair was inaugurated on  November 5, 2014 at Expo Centre Sharjah.  The students of Grades 3 to 7 went to visit The Sharjah International Book Fair.

They were addressed by Amish Tripathi, who is well known as ‘India’s first literary pop star’.  Amish’s unique combination of crackling story-telling and profound philosophies has made him an overnight publishing phenomenon, with spiritual guru Deepak Chopra hailing Amish’s books as ‘archetypal and stirring’. His Shiva Trilogy has over 2 million copies in print, making it the fastest selling book series in Indian history.

Our students had the opportunity to meet Amish Tripathi and have an interactive session listening to his inspiring talk on what  makes a good writer. Students from many schools around the U.A.E had come for the book fair. The most commonly asked question put up by students was – what inspired him to leave his banking job to be a writer.

Students gave interesting answers to questions put up by Mr. Tripathi. He asked students what in their view is required to be a good writer. Warisha Khan of Grade 3 replied ” To be a good writer one needs to write well”. She was praised by Amish Tripathi for her simple and thoughtful answer.

It was an enjoyable learning experience for our students.
