FIRE DRILL

Home / Uncategorized / FIRE DRILL
Objective:

Fire drill at TIA was intended to ensure that:

  • Students who may be in danger act in a calm and orderly manner
  • Those with responsibilities carry out their tasks to ensure the safety of all concerned.
  • Escape routes are used in accordance with a predetermined and practiced plan.
  • Evacuation of the building is achieved in a speedy and orderly manner.
  • Students will react rationally when confronted with a fire or other.
Report:

Students at TIA are told about the exit points nearest to them. We suggested Activities and Drills, and the Evacuation Checklist. Teachers talked about the response plan as a “walk through” exercise, with each team discussing its individual responsibilities.

The mock fire drills train the students with the necessary skills that help them act quickly in similar situations if required. The teacher follows the guidelines given in the fire drill procedure sheet to ensure  all students are safely taken to the assembly point.

Outcome:

Regular fire drills ensured that the evacuation procedure fulfills its aim satisfactorily and will highlight any area which may need to be reviewed. The drill was able to train students and teachers and to test the various elements of response plan in order to evaluate and revise it.
